"When we found our little slice of paradise on Poor House Lane, we knew it would take a lot of love to restore it to its bygone days, yet make it functional for modern living. We knew from our first conversation with Rick that Bird construction was the company we wanted to make that happen.
            There is nothing that makes two homeowners happier, especially facing a major restoration and reconstruction project, than having a top flight contractor (Rick Bird), an incredible project manager (Robert Reilly), and a professional crew and subcontractors working with a wonderful architect (Anthony Sarno) to guide you through myriad decisions and challenges encountered in restoring a wonderful historic cottage in Key West. We carefully interviewed three contractors for our project. our interview with Rick lasted several hours. we were entirely impressed and charmed with the people on his team and the quality of the workmanship we saw in each of his active properties. We discovered construction methods which were a part of his routine and which were much better than what is considered the standard. Rick takes the bar for quality and workmanship and raises it a couple of notches higher. 
          This project also required the help and patience of the neighbors naturally effected by noise and other disruptions that occur with construction. Rick's crew developed positive relationships with the neighbors that guaranteed their cooperation throughout the project. Rick and his team were always on top of their game. 
Now that our project is complete, we could not be happier. We LOVE living in our new home. “Bird Construction Co. and our architect took on a very large project in 2008 to completely renovate our 1905, newly purchased Key West home, that had fallen into disrepair. The entire interior, and parts of the exterior of the home, were demolished, partially expanded, and reconstructed. All new utilities were installed and the rooms rebuilt with new appliances and cabinetry. "The main focus for our remodel was to accomplish complete fit and finish for our house. We interviewed and accepted bids from several of the best contractors in Key West.
